Wondering What To Do In Jacksonville North Carolina?
Are you thinking about living in Jacksonville, North Carolina, but think it's going to be boring? In this video, I’m going to show you the top three things to do here in Jacksonville that are anything but boring. We’ll look at everything from the beach to breweries so you can get a good idea of everything this city has to offer.
Relaxing By The Water
One of the biggest questions that I get when people are moving into our area is what there is to do. We have all kinds of water, including the beach and the river. We can float, paddle, and surf here in Jacksonville, North Carolina. You are always a stone's throw away from an afternoon with the fam on the sunny shore.
We are also just a short drive from the ocean. You can enjoy a relaxing day with your family and friends and check out the local restaurants on the oceanfront. Fun fact: Topsail Beach was named the best little beach town by TripAdvisor. Our beaches are pretty low-key and extremely family-friendly.
So if you're looking for a Spring Break style beach, the good part is that you can get all of the benefits of a day at the beach without having to deal with a ton of beachgoers crowding your space and ruining your relaxing day off.
Brews And Bites
In addition to plenty of water activities, our area is also known for its fanfare around local restaurants, breweries, and distilleries. One of our favorites is Waltons’s Distillery, which offers free tours and tasting. Additionally, all of their glass bottles are made right here in the United States.
Another popular spot is the Salty Turtle Beer Company, a veteran-owned and operated brewery by the beach. It’s the perfect place for an afternoon with your friends. Our newest hotspot, however, is the Flavor Hills. They’ve assembled an incredible team to provide us with an exquisite dining experience, bringing modern Southern Comfort cuisine to the area. They also have an incredible drink menu.
Family-Friendly Activities
Here in Jacksonville, we have a lot of families in our area, and those babies need something to do. Thankfully, there are lots of kid-friendly activities in town. Two of our favorites are the Children's Museum and the “Jump Place”—as my son calls it.
The Zing Zumm Children's Museum is a nonprofit that encourages hands-on learning and imagination. Bring out the creativity in your kids by spending an afternoon learning and playing. The second is my son's favorite place to jump and the perfect spot for a stress-free birthday party: Altitude Trampoline Park. Your kids will have a blast jumping, and it's a perfect way to keep your kids active and entertained on a rainy day.
