What Would $200,000 Buy You In Onslow County, North Carolina?
Are you thinking about living in Jacksonville or Onslow County, North Carolina, and are curious about what your money can buy you? In this episode of Covering Coastal Carolina, I’m going to tell you what $200,000 to $300,000 can buy you in Onslow County. We’ll look at the size and amenities of some real properties in three different neighborhoods so you can get a good idea of what to expect.
Jacksonville
Our first stop is Jacksonville, North Carolina, which is the heart of Onslow County. This area is very well known for its proximity to our military bases, and most people move to our area because they are in some way related to the military. Military families are always moving in and out of the area, which is why it's so important to show you what your money can buy.
The first property I want to show you is at 149 Forbes Estates Drive in Jacksonville. It's just over 1,650 square feet and has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a bonus room. This adorable home features rustic details and went under contract for $250,000.
Another example is a property at 320 Merin Height Road. This three-bedroom, two-bathroom home is just over 1,900 square feet and is located in the highly sought-after neighborhood of Carolina Plantations. It went under contract and sold for $246,000.
Sneads Ferry
The next stop on our tour is going to be Sneads Ferry, south of Jacksonville. This area is known for its proximity to major cities like Jacksonville and Wilmington, allowing for more job opportunities. It's also home to Stone Bay, where the Marine Corps Special Operations Command has its hub on the East Coast.
Sneads Ferry is a growing city—and with that comes higher home prices. The first property I'm going to show you is at 123 Long Pond Drive in the neighborhood of The Landing at Mill Creek. This home is just shy of 1,800 square feet, has three bedrooms, two and a half baths, and a loft. This home features beautiful interiors with a huge fenced-in yard on a corner lot. This house sold for $272,000.
The second property I want to show you is at 212 Shell Bank Drive. This home is just over 1,900 square feet and has three bedrooms with a bonus and two and a half bathrooms. This home, located in the highly desirable neighborhood of Chadwick Shores, sold on the higher end at $290,000.
Richlands
The last stop on our tour is going to be Richlands, a quaint little rural town just outside of Jacksonville, North Carolina. Don't let the word ‘quaint’ fool you; Richlands is quickly growing and is becoming a well-known city for getting more for your money.
The property in Richlands I want to show you is at 113 Flat Rock lane. This home is just over 1900 square feet and has three bedrooms and two and a half bathrooms. Located on the outskirts of town tucked away in a charming neighborhood, this home features a relaxing backyard oasis complete with a deck for entertaining.
